A new PCR-RFLP within the domestic pigeon (Columba livia var. domestica) cytochrome b (MTCYB) gene.
A total of 244 domestic pigeons (Columba livia var. domestica) were genotyped using the PCR-RFLP method. A 999 bp fragment of the MTCYB gene was amplified. The amplification products were digested with restriction enzymes. PCR-RFLP for MvaI restriction enzyme was observed. Frequencies of alleles were as follows: MTCYB(C)--0.926, MTCYB(G)-- 0.074. The frequencies of MTCYB/MvaI alleles found in t...
متن کاملNRAS mutant melanoma – undrugable?
Mutations in the three rat sarcoma (RAS) family members NRAS (neuroblastoma-RAS), HRAS (Harvey-RAS) and KRAS (Kirsten-RAS) are found in one third of human cancers. Among the first oncogenes discovered in cutaneous melanoma was NRAS, which is mutant in up to 20% of tumors causing aberrant signaling in several downstream cascades. Despite, being a highly relevant therapeutic target, design of sma...

Ethanol extract of prune was separated into hexane-soluble and H(2)O-soluble fractions, and the H(2)O-soluble fraction was further separated into a methanol (MeOH) eluate and an H(2)O eluate by Diaion HP-20 column chromatography. The MeOH eluate exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity among the separated fractions evaluated by oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC). Further purification...

Chromosomal Localization: The 3 polymorphic bands were mapped to chromosome 22 using a somatic cell hybrid panel. The 2.1 kb constant band mapped to chromosome lq whereas all other constant bands mapped to chromosome 20. Whereas the active gene for hTOPl is located on chromosome 20ql 1.2—13.1, two pseudogenes are on chromosomes Iq23—24 and 22qll.2-13.1 (2). The sequences of hTOPl and the two ps...
